LAUNCH OF THE NEW ‘FASHION FOR GOOD’ PROGRAMME
Sew Ready is launching their ‘Fashion for Good’ programme on Friday 29th Sept – a fashion lead, art-based youth programme for 13-20yr olds for young people from across Northern Ireland.
This event will bring creative individuals together for an initial overview of the 6 month project allowing everyone to get a better understanding of what will be covered and suggest any unique ideas.
Together with fashion tutors and staff they will learn:
- Pattern making skills
- Garment construction methods
- How to use a sewing machine & overlocker
- Develop fashion illustrations & technical drawings
- Develop colour board, mood board, consumer boards
- Create capsule collection
Everyone will deliver their creative ideas throughout the project, resulting in a full portfolio and have an original fashion collection ready for a runway show in April 2024. At Sew Ready our vision is to create a successful, inclusive society where every stitch matters and every maker is equally valued.
