Cafe Culture

This  café style dialogue event has been designed to raise awareness of the people from many different cultures who have come to live in the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.

Conversations will take place in a café style environment with the purpose of creating a positive and informal space to hear from individuals representing a variety of cultural and racial groups. It is an opportunity to learn about different countries, why people have left their home country, what the experiences have been for them arriving in a new country, cultural and religious differences and much more.

This is a great opportunity to hear from people directly and have the opportunity to ask questions with the aim of raising awareness and understanding of cultural diversity and differences, the reasons why people come here, the challenges they may face and how they make a positive contribution within our local communities.

This event will also include presentations from 2 local community organisations who will give an overview of the work they have been doing to assist newcomers and the experiences and learning that they have gained to develop the projects that they now implement to support individuals and to aid positive community integration.
