Conversation and Question Time with the Reverend Harold Good

Harold Good was a Minister in the Shankill during the early years of the conflict, and witnessed first-hand how Northern Ireland was torn apart by sectarianism and violence.  This led him to become director of Corrymeela, and to a life dedicated to promoting peace and reconciliation.  He would go on to become a pivotal figure in helping to bring adversaries together, to discuss and frame a new way forward for Northern Ireland.  In partnership with Father Alec Reid and others, he would ensure that talks on a different future would continue, even in unpredictable and seemingly unfavourable circumstances.  He got to know the major figures in the Peace Process personally, and was trusted to be chosen as one of the two independent eyewitnesses to the decommissioning of IRA arms in 2005.  His story is inspirational and the insights he offers on figures such as Martin McGuinness and Rev. Ian Paisley and others, as well as other events that he witnessed, will help historians, history teachers and those interested to fully understand the complexities of the Peace Process.

HTANI are delighted to give teachers and others the opportunity to listen to the Rev. Good’s story and the chance to ask him questions on his life experiences and involvement in the Peace Process.
