Debate Conference

Parallel Histories offers a new way to study the history of conflict – history which is still contested, controversial and relevant. Our teaching methodology challenges students to understand both sides, examine the source evidence and debate alternative interpretations before coming to their own view.

Our debating conference will invite seven schools from across Northern Ireland to join us in Stormont, the home of the Northern Ireland Assembly on Friday 22nd September 2023, 10am to 2pm for what promises to be a fantastic day of debate and discussion.

Introduced by Robbie Butler MLA, deputy leader of the UUP, the event gives the opportunity for schools across Northern Ireland to come together to share their own perspectives and interpretations of the contested history of Northern Ireland.
