Empowering Women and Challenging the Status Quo

This empowering six week programme will explore the social impacts of patriarchy as a political system of male domination.

It is an introductory programme which creates space for women to reflect on lived experiences and consider what patriarchy is, where patriarchy has emerged from and how it evolves to impact every dimension of our everyday lives today.

The programme will explore how a patriarchal system shape our culture today  from gender roles, to gender relationships, religion and faith practice, our economic norms, to sectarianism and racism and much more.

Through discussion and debate and by exploring different perspectives, the programme will consider how to challenge Patriarchy and alternative ways of relating to each other.

The programme is facilitated by Catherine Pollock and guest speakers. The programme is organised by The Junction in collaboration with the CNP/ The Empower Project and is funded by the International Fund for Ireland.
