Globalising Peace in Northern Ireland

Globalising Peace in Northern Ireland: Wednesday 25 September 2024, 10am – 3pm, Derry/Londonderry
Organised as part of the Migrant Centre NI’s ‘Migrant and Ethnic Minority Peace Builders in Northern Ireland’ project, this event is a day of talks, workshops, and discussion sessions focused on taking a global and inclusive approach to peacebuilding in Northern Ireland.
With the theme of ‘Globalising Peace in Northern Ireland’, the event will look at topics such as the connection between the civil rights movements in Northern Ireland and the United States and how issues such as minority rights are approached in different transitional societies. We will also have a workshop on humanising and healing from conflict, facilitated by former combatants and victims/survivors of the Troubles in the Theatre of Witness Network. The day will finish with a roundtable discussion on the lessons which the NI peace process could draw from peacebuilding efforts in other parts of the world.
Due to the project’s objective of promoting capacity-building, networking, platforming, and awareness-raising opportunities for people with lived experience, attendance at this event is reserved exclusively for members of migrant and/or ethnic minority communities who live in Northern Ireland.

Speakers & Facilitators from:

  • John & Pat Hume Foundation
