Hate Crime Prevention

This 2.5 hour interactive session was originally developed by the Centre for Hate Crime Prevention in Maine by former Hate Crime Prosecutor Steve Wessler and aims to equip participants to intervene in the process of escalation from derogatory language to harassment to threat and if unchecked to Hate Crime. It aims to:

• Give participants an understanding of the extent of bias, prejudice and hate in the wider community
• Highlight the impact of bias and harassment on those targeted
• Address stereotypes
• Develop practical skills for response and prevention
