Stand-Up for Integrated Education Comedy Night
| The Integrated Education Fund (IEF) is proud to present Stand-Up for Integrated Education, the latest in a series of sold-out comedy nights at the Ulster Hall, Belfast, on 16 October 2025. All funds raised will go towards supporting the IEF’s mission of promoting and developing Integrated Education across Northern Ireland.
Colin Murphy returns to compère the evening. Colin has been a regular on radio and tv for the last twenty-five years, most famously on The Blame Game for the BBC and The Panel on RTE. He is an accomplished stand-up comedian and has recently finished his latest tour ‘Murphy Beaucoup’ playing to sell out audiences from Belfast to Cork. Emer Maguire is Northern Ireland’s brightest up-and-coming musical comedy star. She has sold out shows at the Mac Belfast, the Grand Opera House and the Edinburgh Fringe and continues her ascension with her new touring show ‘Notions’. Emer is a regular voice on BBC Radio and is host of the acclaimed podcast ‘Bimbo and Butch’. She has also just been commissioned to write a script for Channel 4 for a sitcom starring Emer, based on her life as an autistic adult. Emer is a fierce advocate for Integrated Education. The bearded Tim McGarry is best known for playing the role of Da in the iconic series Give My Head Peace, as well as for hosting panel show The Blame Game. Alongside Dr David Hume, he currently co-presents the acclaimed BBC Radio Ulster show and BBCNI TV series The Long and the Short of It, which explores Irish history from different perspectives. With 31 years in the comedy game, Tim’s acerbic take on all things local is unmistakable. Wendy Wason is a Scottish actress and comedian. Her TV shows include Coupling, The IT Crowd and Broken News. Wendy is also an established stand-up artist with five solo touring shows under her belt, including the winner of best show at the 2016 Guildford Fringe. With a Northern Irish husband, Wendy reflects: ‘There is a real joy with sticking it to the man in Belfast. That’s a shared feeling between Scots and NI folks.’ Tim McGarry said: ‘I’m delighted to be back in the Ulster Hall to help raise funds for the important work of the Integrated Education Fund. If you have already been to Stand-Up for Integrated Education, you’ll want to come back. And if you haven’t been before – even if you’ve no links to the cause – come along for a great night’s craic!’ The comedians will be joined on the night by a special guest. This event is generously supported by the McCall Foundation.
