In celebration of Good Relations Week 2024 and its theme of ‘OpportUNITY,’ Cultúrlann Uí Chanáin are offering an Outreach Irish Language Class for Beginners. This event is designed for those who have had limited access to learning Irish, whether you have lived here all your life or have recently made this place your home. Our tailored classes provide a welcoming introduction to the Irish language, reflecting the week’s focus on embracing cultural diversity and fostering unity through shared learning experiences. Join in to start your journey into the Irish language and connect with the rich cultural heritage that surrounds us.
The Gathering Drum in association with Clanmil Housing are hosting a ‘Gathering Drum’ event on Friday 23rd September in celebration of Good Relations Week 2022.
This event will focus on the music and rhythms of African and Calypso drumming. To complement the Gathering Drum, workshops will also be held that will include ethnically styled mask making and decoration.
Food and refreshments will also be supplied.

The Holywell Trust will be hosting a seminar session that will include topics on, New Ireland, Brexit, The Protocol and a United Ireland. Young people will listen to the view points on these topics and then will get an opportunity to ask questions in a safe environment.

Do you have clothes that are feeling a little old or dull? Come along to ‘Revamp Your Camp’ at Another World Belfast on Wednesday 21st September at 6pm.
You will have the opportunity to upcycle your own clothes (using tie-dye, fabric paint & stencils) into something totally wardrobe worthy and unique!

Youth Link in partnership with Community Intercultural Programme (CIP) and Oasis Youth Centre is offering training to support local services to deliver Youth Work with Newcomer Children and Young People. This training is aimed at youth workers, community workers, and faith-based organisations interested in enhancing their skills, understanding and practice around engagement with Newcomer Children and Young people.
The training seminar will be facilitated by Stephen Smith (CEO) of CIP. As CEO of CIP, Stephen coordinates 12 staff members that deliver a range of projects such as : Advice Clinics for ethnic minority communities, BME children & youth projects, Ethnic Family Support, Human Trafficking Awareness, Cross cultural/cross-community integration projects involving art and sport. Stephen will be joined in the training seminar with Bethany Ebron and youth workers from Oasis Youth Centre in Portadown who will bring the training alive with practical examples, insights and case studies.

This training is a Continuous Professional Development opportunity aimed at improving the skills, expertise, and competence of workers. It will include the following:
- Gaining knowledge on how to support children and young people who have recently arrived in the region
- Increased skill base of youth work staff to provide enhanced quality youth work
- Increased collaboration/partnership working within the youth work and community sector
- Sharing of good practice to enhance expertise within the sector
