MSCNI Legacy Cup 2023 in Celebration of Good Relations Week

Legacy Cup is a football festival is celebration of Good Relations Week 2023 with teams from Ethnic Minority backgrounds and local communities coming together. Ages ranging from 15-17years to 40+.

The Legacy Cup aims to develop youths in sports to become future sporting ambassadors of change within Belfast and Northern Ireland and to promote togetherness, build relationships, and create awareness of cultural diversity as our communities continue to grow multiculturally.

The Legacy Cup will also give participants a sense of belonging which will encourage their participation in volunteering in the sport more with a football festival for them to look forward to annually.

Futsal Indoor Football

Radius is working with Omagh Futsal Club and 6 Schools on a cross community basis to take part in indoor football and good relations exercises. Good Relations workshops will be delivered by the IFA. There will be a celebration event on the last day for all schools taking part.

Everybody’s Game: Racism Awareness Evening

Through Fresh Start Through Sport programme, young people are coming together to enjoy an evening of football education and fun. Irish FA Foundation Community Relations Officer, Chris Wright, will deliver their Racism Awareness and Equality module ‘Everybody’s Game’, to participants followed by a coaching/game based pitch session and refreshments.

This event will be held at the Newforge Country Club. 

KickOff@3 Tournament

KickOff@3 seeks to use Football sport and music to engage young people from all communities through the participation in tournaments throughout the UK.

The National Black Police Association brought the concept to Belfast in 2018 and with the support of PSNI and the IFA Foundation the 3rd tournament in Northern Ireland will be held this year.

Over 150 young people aged 15-17 will take part, with the winners qualifying for the grand final in London in 2022. Catrina Lewis, mum of Northern Ireland International Jamal Lewis is an ambassador for KickOff@3 and will be in Belfast for the event.

Meet the Skaters

Belfast Skate Collective is hosting a Skating Jam in Art College / Cathedral Gardens for beginners and new skaters to the scene.  The “Meet the Skaters” event aims to bring the skating community together and make it a safe, inclusive environment for young people to express themselves.

This event is for beginners or young people wanting to know the skate community more and get involved. Meet some of the regulars, get to know a few famous local faces, have a bit of craic, and go skate!

Our Journey, Our Lives, Our Cultures

Multi-Ethnic Sports & Cultures NI will host a series of workshops aimed to give children and youth from diverse communities a better understanding of racism, sectarianism and prejudice and ways to tackle these. This will conclude with a cultural celebration highlighting the cultural vibrancy of Northern Ireland with food, drinks, music and activities from all cultural backgrounds.

Tai Chi For Health – Richhill

As part of Good Relations Week 2021, GOGA will hosting Tai Chi For Health at Richill Recreation Centre. Come along and improve your strength, balance, flexibility and coordination through a series of low impact Tai Chi exercises that are excellent for relaxation.

This class forms part of the GOGA In Action programme funded by Live Active NI and Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.
