Good Relations Ambassadors Update Report 2020/21

The Good Relations Ambassadors Update Report showcases the work of the Good Relations Ambassadors Programme.

The report highlights the many skills the young people have learned during their time on the Programme and the positive outcomes the Programme has achieved.  It also demonstrates the benefits of collaborative working.

Joint Practice Development Menu

The JPD Menu provides schools/partnerships across Northern Ireland with details of the programmes which have been delivered across Nursery, Special, Primary and Post Primary Shared Education Clusters.

JPD Programmes focus on Leadership & Management, Curriculum Development or Teaching & Learning.

An outline of each programme has also been included which provides the reader with a brief insight into the work undertaken.

Teaching Sensitive and Controversial issues

This programme has been developed to support teachers in Shared Education partnerships.

It will allow them to:

  • explore their understanding of sensitive and controversial issues
  • consider why and how they should teach them
  • consider and find solutions to the challenges his may bring

This programme includes:

  • CCEA resources on Teaching Controversial Issues.
  • Tackling Controversial Issues in the Citizenship Classroom
    (published by the CDVEC Curriculum Development Unit)

A PUPIL PATHWAY FOR SHARED EDUCATION

The Pupil Pathway can be used by Shared Education Partnerships to:

  • Provide pre-school and school leaders with a clear
    overview of the Shared Education journey, which can
    then be embedded within the Pre-School/School
    Development Plan;
  • Guide Shared Education leaders/coordinators in the
    development of annual action plans within the
    partnership;
  • Support practitioners in the planning, implementing,
    monitoring and evaluation of Shared Education.
