NextGen Leading Change

Springboard Opportunities are excited to celebrate Good Relations week 2022 in a number of ways.

Throughout the week we will showcase some of our Good Relations work with young people from the past year on oursocial media platforms. This will include highlights from our cross community schools project in Belfast & the North West as well as a video of our recent Good Relations showcase event ‘Our Lives, Our Legacy’ which examined themes of cultural identity and how the legacy of conflict in Northern
Ireland continues to impact young people from disadvantaged communities today.

Alongside this we will host a physical event on UN International Day of Peace (21st of Sept) at New City Life along the peace line.

The event will see Springboards youth ambassadors “NextGen’ facilitate a youth panel for cross community groups aged 16-24 years old. The ambassadors will encourage their peers to explore & tackle key issues they are impacted by including mental health, poverty & unemployment through interactive and engaging workshops as well as Q & A discussions with key experts.

Young people will be asked to ‘imagine’ an ideal future for Belfast and outline recommendations for change. These young change makers will then decide on follow up social action activity that will positively impact on themselves and their local communities.
