Londonderry Bands Forum pride themselves on promoting the Flute, Accordion, Brass and Pipe Band scene in the Londonderry area.

The podcast will feature Co-Ordinator Stephen Porter in conversation with popular Northern Ireland comedian ‘Tim McGarry’ from Give My Head Peace & The Blame Game talking about all things culture, from his life growing up to how he became a famous comedian to his work with Ulster Scots and how culture can lead to change.

‘Remembering the Future: A Reflection on Northern Ireland and the Decade of Centenaries 1912-1922 ’

Ards and North Down Borough Council are hosting an online event which reflects on Northern Ireland and its Decade of Centenaries 1912-1922.

This talk will be delivered by Dr Éamon Phoenix of Stranmillis University College, Belfast on the 22nd September at 7pm.

The talk will be cover information on centenaries such as the Home Rule Crisis, the formation of the UVF and the Irish Volunteers, Easter Rising and the Battle of the Somme, the Irish Revolution (1919-21), and Partition and the birth of Northern Ireland.

ISO 30415 Diversity and Inclusion

An introductory workshop for the recently launched ISO30415 Diversity and Inclusion standard highlighting its requirements and the benefits of working with ISO 30415.

Diversity and inclusion have become hugely important to organizations worldwide, yet many still aren’t confident they understand the issues or know what actions to take to address diversity and inclusion in their own workplace. ISO 30415:2021 Human resource management.

Diversity and inclusion, is a new international standard that gives guidance on achieving diversity and inclusion in organisations of all sizes, sectors and types. ISO 30415 looks at the organization from both an internal, staff perspective and unlike other standards an external perspective (customers, suppliers and the community)

In this webinar John Mulholland MD of PDQ Solutions will outline the requirements of the standard and the routes to certification.

Human Library

This online session will offer participants an opportunity to learn about the roles that members of the Key Institutions play within our local communities and wider afield.

Members of the Key Institutions will also have the opportunity to learn from each other. Participants will have the opportunity to listen to representatives from The Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH), The Apprentice Boys of Derry (ABOD), Royal  British Legion (RBL), The Loyal Orange Order, (LOL), GAA, Masons, Marching Bands and Ulster Special Constabulary Association (USCA).

Participants will also be able to engage with the KIP’S and ask questions that they may not have had the opportunity to do before. This session will be facilitated within a safe, fun and friendly environment.
