Towards Understanding and Healing are hosting a series of readings from culturally diverse community based writers, all exploring how each of us might take more personal reasonability in creating a more dynamic social, cultural, environmentally and economical change.
Writers reading in the cafeteria area of Holywell Trust: Sue Divin, Roy Arbuckle, Grainne McAnee, Jim Simpson, Felicity McCall, Anne Walker and Stan McWilliams.
REACH Across will organise a Good Relations event that will initially reflect on our past cross-community programmes through the stories and experiences of former members and leaders. The 2nd part of the event will allow current members to discuss current Good Relations issues and proposals, so that they can contribute to a Shared Future and to ‘Brighter Days Ahead’.
Libraries NI has partnered with Glor Uachta Tire to deliver a storytime in Irish for children age 5-8 read by Mary McMurragh to promote Irish language in the community.
This will be held in Castelwellan Library at 5pm

Libraries NI welcomes Tokyo born Masako Carey for a storytelling session of her repertoire of traditional Japanese tales, some comical, some serious, that has now expanded to include tales from around the world.
Masako met her Irish born husband through business and came to Northern Ireland 20 years ago. She recently completed a National Open College Network Level 2 qualification in oral storytelling, a course supported by funding from Libraries NI.

Libraries NI presents storyteller and playwright, Nandi Jola, to share a range of folk tales from the African continent.
Nandi was born in South Africa and grew up under the apartheid regime until she was 21 when she moved to Northern Ireland. She has been active in the arts community as a writer, schools ambassador, artist and facilitator.

Reading Rooms is Verbal’s shared reading model which facilitates conversation through stories and shared experiences, between people from all different backgrounds.
To celebrate Good Relations Week, Verbal Arts will be hosting 5 daily open sessions – all are welcome.

Women from Falls Women’s Centre, Shankill Women’s Centre and Glengormley Community Relations Forum will come together for a celebratory event in a shared venue.
The women are all participants in the collective group’s Good Relations programmes and they will be invited to sing, tell stories, read poems and dance, sharing their experiences and looking forward to the future.
The event will increase participants’ understanding of other cultures, and increase the use of shared spaces. It will further strengthen friendships between women from both communities.
An uplifting storytelling session at Newtownbreda Library looking at themes of love, family, sharing and inclusiveness. This will be followed by seed planting to represent growing together as a community.
Booking for this event is essential. Recommended for children ages 4-8.
