This publication is the culmination of a series of research papers carried out jointly by the Community Relations Council and Rural Community Network in 2006. It provides a rural lens on issues of segregation, exclusion, sectarianism and racism and explores how these manifest differently in rural communities. The publication also includes a series of recommendations that provide a framework by which to develop solutions. The thematic areas explored include: Community Development and Community Relations Flags and Emblems Housing Interfaces Race and Ethnicity Children and Young People and Rural Institutions.
