Women&rsquos opportunities for participation and recognition in rural Northern Ireland, in decision making, in rural development and farming, are well below many of our European counterparts. This paper provides an illustration of the reality that in some societies, it is the least powerful who experience the consequences of unbalanced policy initiatives.
