Youth Link in partnership with Community Intercultural Programme (CIP) and Oasis Youth Centre is offering training to support local services to deliver Youth Work with Newcomer Children and Young People. This training is aimed at youth workers, community workers, and faith-based organisations interested in enhancing their skills, understanding and practice around engagement with Newcomer Children and Young people.
The training seminar will be facilitated by Stephen Smith (CEO) of CIP. As CEO of CIP, Stephen coordinates 12 staff members that deliver a range of projects such as : Advice Clinics for ethnic minority communities, BME children & youth projects, Ethnic Family Support, Human Trafficking Awareness, Cross cultural/cross-community integration projects involving art and sport. Stephen will be joined in the training seminar with Bethany Ebron and youth workers from Oasis Youth Centre in Portadown who will bring the training alive with practical examples, insights and case studies.

This training is a Continuous Professional Development opportunity aimed at improving the skills, expertise, and competence of workers. It will include the following:
- Gaining knowledge on how to support children and young people who have recently arrived in the region
- Increased skill base of youth work staff to provide enhanced quality youth work
- Increased collaboration/partnership working within the youth work and community sector
- Sharing of good practice to enhance expertise within the sector
