Beyond Trauma Talks: Taking the Weight Off Trauma

Run by Shakti Wellness Studio & Clinic

For anyone curious about generational trauma, no background needed. We'll look at what it actually is, how it shows up in ordinary life, and why carrying it doesn't mean something is wrong with you.

For anyone curious about generational trauma, no background needed. Trauma is usually treated as something personal, something we carry alone and have to fix. But a lot of what we feel, the anxiety, the hyper vigilance, the heaviness, didn't start with us.

The nervous system doesn't just respond to what happens to us, it also carries patterns passed down from the people who raised us, and the generations before them.

This is an informal talk, not a lecture, led by Sara Drumond, founder of Beyond Trauma Institute. We'll cover what generational trauma actually is, whether everyone carries some form of it, how it shows up in ordinary life without us realising, and what actually helps when it comes to moving through it rather than staying stuck in it.

If you have something you'd like to think through together, you're welcome to bring it to the floor, maybe a reaction that feels too big for the moment it happened in, or a pattern you keep noticing in your own family. No pressure to share anything, you're just as welcome to sit and listen.
