Free Shared Education Trip to Dream Space at W5 LIFE

Run by W5 LIFE

Is your school planning a shared education trip as part of Good Relations Week? Join us in Dream Space at W5 LIFE with your shared education partner school for a free STEM-focused workshop with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.

Dream Space at W5 LIFE facilitates your Shared Education programme through the wonders of STEM! At Dream Space, the student voice is essential, encouraging schools and pupils to share their opinions and insights. We can deliver a range of programmes and activities specially designed to suit the age and abilities of your students, for example:

- The Civil Engineers Challenge, which explores construction and engineering through a group work, challenges and hands-on activities, providing young people with opportunities to collaborate, plan, and problem-solve as a team. This challenge gives pupils valuable life skills in resilience and collaboration.

- Software Engineering
As one of the fastest-growing industries, software engineering is a vital part of the world we live in today. Pupils learn to code using BBC micro:bits, a pocket-sized computer that is designed to inspire creative thinking in children, and are tasked to create a warning system to alert others of a dangerous natural disaster. This activity encourages inclusive thinking, the importance of being mindful of others, and how to create a device for the common good of helping the world around us.

The Dream Space values are designed to empower and encourage pupils to become active in their own education. Throughout the day, the pupils fostered new friendships and continued learning outside the classroom in an interactive environment.
