Good Relations Showcase

Good Relations showcase event, 9th October 2026 1.20pm - 4.30pm, Coleraine Town Hall.

Everyone is welcome to come along, explore inspiring exhibitions, enjoy traditional performances and participate in fun activities, meet local organisations and discover the stories and cultures that make the Causeway Coast and Glens such a vibrant place to live.
The event is free to attend and no booking is required.

Good Relations practitioners from a range of agencies and organisations will host a stall at the event showcasing the work they do and will provide information on their services, programmes and funding available to local communities. Those attending include; Housing Executive, Londonderry Bands Forum, Building Communities resource Centre (BCRC) and North Antrim Irish Language Development.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the inspiring Wear Your Courage Exhibition, which will be on display at the event. The exhibition celebrates stories of resilience, identity and belonging, encouraging reflection on what it means to embrace diversity and inclusion. It’s a powerful, youth led creative and advocacy project developed by the Barnardo's Ubuntu NI Youth Voice Network.

The afternoon will feature a lively programme of cultural activities, including a special performance by Limavady Highland Dancers at 3pm, showcasing traditional culture and heritage.

Families are particularly encouraged to drop in after school and take part in a fun and creative kite making workshop at 3.30pm with Go Fly Your Kite. Children can design and build their own kite and, weather permitting, take their creations outside for a fly afterwards.

Attendees can also learn more about the experiences of people who have made the Causeway area their home, by picking up one of the booklets produced as part of the World of Stories exhibition, curated by Council’s Museum’s Service. These personal accounts offer a fascinating insight into the journeys, cultures and experiences of individuals from around the world who have settled locally and now contribute to community life across the Borough.

Council’s Good Relations staff will be available to answer questions about the Council’s current Good Relations Programme and to hear residents’ views on the priority issues and actions for its Good Relations work over the next five years. Attendees who complete a short survey will have the opportunity to enter a draw for a Causeway Coast and Glens Gift Card, redeemable at more than 200 independent businesses across the Borough.

This Good Relations Showcase is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity that enriches our Borough and recognise the important role that inclusion plays in building stronger, more connected communities.
