Pieces of Us: Inter-Community Patchwork Workshop

Run by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council

Pieces of Us will bring together women from different community and cultural backgrounds through a collaborative creative workshop exploring identity, inclusion, belonging and shared experiences.

Pieces of Us will bring together women from different community and cultural backgrounds through a collaborative creative workshop exploring identity, inclusion, belonging and shared experiences.

Participants will create individual quilt squares reflecting their own experiences and interpretations of inclusion. These will subsequently be brought together to produce a collective piece of artwork representing the diversity of identities and experiences within the borough.

The workshop will provide an informal and welcoming environment for women who may not ordinarily meet to share experiences, develop relationships and establish new community connections.

Subject to practical arrangements, the completed quilt will be displayed locally, providing a tangible legacy of the activity and an opportunity to continue promoting its message of inclusion beyond Good Relations Week.
