Join Ulster University staff, students and community members at this special Public Lecture during Good Relations Week 2026.

As Northern Ireland continues to evolve socially and demographically, questions of identity, inclusion and belonging are becoming increasingly important.

In this public seminar, Dr Bethany Corbett, Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Ulster University, will explore the psychological importance of belonging, the challenges faced by those who feel excluded and the unique opportunities and risks arising from a changing society.

Drawing on research conducted in schools and communities, the session will examine how common identities, meaningful contact and inclusive practice can help reduce prejudice, strengthen social connections, and foster a greater sense of belonging for all.

Lunch will be provided from 12.00pm, with the seminar running from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.
