A practical sewing workshop where we will introduce you to simple garment repairs.
Join Sew Ready for a relaxed, friendly and inclusive sewing workshop as part of Good Relations Week.
Perfect for adults aged 18+ who are new to sewing or would like to build their confidence, learn practical skills and connect with others in their community.
During this session, we’ll explore essential clothing repairs, including:
- Sewing on a button
- Taking up a pair of trousers
- Taking in a waist
- Simple tips for repairing and extending the life of your clothes

At Sew Ready, we believe sewing is a wonderful way to bring people together. Our workshops provide a welcoming space where people from all backgrounds and abilities can meet, share experiences, learn from one another and build new friendships.
Whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or refreshing your skills, everyone is welcome. Learn at your own pace, enjoy a chat over a cuppa and discover how a shared creative activity can help strengthen connections within our community.
Sessions are delivered by Sew Ready, a not-for-profit sewing school based in Lisburn, passionate about making sewing accessible to everyone.

Age: Adults 18+
Experience: No previous sewing experience required
Materials: Please bring along any clothing you'd like to repair or alter. We'll guide you through the process step by step.
