The Community Relations Council has extended the registration deadline for Good Relations Week 2026 following a high number of requests from event organisers for additional time to submit their activities.
Schools, charities, community groups, businesses and other organisations now have until 5pm on Friday 9 October to join this year’s programme.
Running from Monday 12 to Sunday 18 October, with events also taking place either side of the week, Good Relations Week brings people together to share experiences, celebrate cultural diversity and build understanding across communities.
This year’s theme, ‘Include - Everyone. Everywhere. Every Day.’, focuses on the everyday actions that help people feel welcome, valued and able to take part.
The programme is already live, with more than 300 events across all 11 council areas. Film screenings, live music, walking tours, exhibitions and cultural celebrations offer people different ways to get involved.

In Belfast, Springboard Opportunities presents Two Sides to Every Wall, a documentary screening and panel discussion at Queen’s Film Theatre on Thursday 15 October. The venue also hosts the Cinemagic International Shorts Programme on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October.
In Derry/Londonderry, Sole Purpose Productions presents Songs Without Borders at Carlisle Road Methodist Church Hall on Tuesday 13 October.
The Inter Ethnic Forum’s Venezuelan Culture & Dance Workshop takes place at Ballykeel Youth and Community Centre in Ballymena on Friday 16 October, while GRANDfest takes place at Queen’s Hall in Newtownards on Saturday 17 October.
Those interested in exploring local heritage can join the Omagh in Spires Walking Tour on Saturday 17 October.
The full programme is available at www.goodrelationsweek.com, where visitors can search by day, council area, category and audience, and check individual listings for booking information and access requirements. Most events are free.
For organisations still considering taking part, the extended deadline provides a further opportunity to have their work included. Suitable activities already planned can be registered, alongside events developed specifically for the week.
A workshop, shared meal, performance or community gathering can all help people meet, learn from one another and build relationships. Events do not need to be large or open to the public to form part of the programme.
Good Relations Week 2026 is organised by the Community Relations Council, supported by The Executive Office and contributes to the delivery of the Together: Building a United Community Strategy.
Register an event by 5pm on Friday 9 October, or find an event to attend, at www.goodrelationsweek.com.
