BAME within the City: A Short Film

The  Peace Walls Project hosted a short online film based on pre-recorded interviews with BAME residents in Derry~Londonderry.

The Bogside/Brandywell Initiative (BBI) and the Peace Walls project have a wide variety of BAME groups and networks (Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Syrian, Bangladeshi, Japanese, African and Polish) and have been a key organisation in BAME engagement in the last few years through Mela events and cultural workshops.

This film was shown online via the Triax Neighbourhood Management Facebook  and Twitter pages.

Belter Project – Live Choir Performance

CALMS presented a live music performance (on Thursday 17th September @5pm) and a live Choir performance (Friday 18th September @ 6pm) as the finale to a 4-week programme with young people that looked at good relations, mental health and emotional well-being.

The venue for the live choir performance is the Brooke Park Band Stand, Derry~Londonderry and the performance was streamed live on the CALMS Facebook page.

Belter Project – Live Music Performance

#ArtsDialogue – Music is the Dialogue

Beyond Skin presents a fly on the wall documentary produced by 3 Forty Five Films capturing a day at Start Together Studios with members of #ArtsDialogue.

#ArtsDialogue collective are an international intergenerational team of musicians, artists, producers, writers & peace activists. The team represents a shared creative resource of decades of experience in peacebuilding, community development and youth work within very different areas of conflict and post-conflict.

YOUTH4PEACE AGENTS OF CHANGE – KACPER

Beyond Skin presents a series of short videos produced by 3 Forty Five Films featuring conversations and creative activities with young people involved in youth4peace Northern Ireland – an initiative implementing UN Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace and Security.

KACPER. Kacper Lewandowski loves music, especially Heavy Metal. In this video Kacper talks about his love for Metal and how music has helped him integrate and adapt to making Belfast his new home.

The videos show the gifts and spirit in young people to bring people together, make a difference, explore different cultures and find their role in the world as a active agent of change.

TARANOM. Kerry Anderson is a Beyond Skin #youth4peace ambassador studying conflict transformation and social justice at Queen’s University Belfast. Taranom (15yrs) is a young musician who joined the Afghan Women’s Orchestra at the age of 10. Now relocated to Finland with her family Taranom talks to Kerry about her love for music and her memories of Afghanistan.

Gathered Voices

Gathered Voices are a community choir from Mid Ulster area, the aim is to bring people together of all ages, uniting through song and a shared purpose.

Singing is one of the quickest routes to social bonding and a feeling of shared endeavour.

Their priorities are to engage all communities in Mid Ulster area, in an all-inclusive (minimum age 17 years) choir, to be a true reflection of our diverse communities.

Made to Parade: Live Reading

Made to Parade is a book that outlines the story of a young boy who joins a marching band, this event/content helps promote understanding of that cultural expression and provide a positive narrative in regard to the impact it had on shaping his present and future.
