Explore Japan is an exciting, interactive 45-minute school assembly-style session, introducing pupils to Japan through Japanese culture, language, music and live Taiko drumming.
Explore Japan: Drumming, Culture, Fun is an invitation-only session for primary school pupils, delivered by Foyle Obon as part of our Explore Japan programme, funded by The Executive Office Central Good Relations Fund.
Foyle Obon will visit the school for an interactive 45-minute session introducing pupils to Japan, Japanese culture, language, traditions and music. Pupils will enjoy a live Taiko drumming demonstration, take part in interactive activities and have the opportunity to try Taiko drums themselves. The session supports good relations by giving children the opportunity to learn about another culture, develop understanding and curiosity about the wider world, and participate together in a shared creative experience.
Foyle Obon provides all equipment and materials. This is a pre-booked school session and is not open to the public.
