Inclusion and the Future

Inclusion and the Future invites youth workers and practitioners to explore what inclusion means in a rapidly changing social and professional landscape.

Expectations around inclusive practice continue to evolve, influenced by changes in society, legislation, policy and our understanding of identity, equality and belonging. For youth workers, this can create new opportunities, but also questions about how we translate our values into practice and respond confidently to increasingly complex issues.
Through discussion, reflection and participative activities, this workshop will explore the changing inclusion landscape and consider what it means for youth work now and in the future. Participants will examine the relationship between practice, legislation and values, reflect on emerging challenges and consider how we can create spaces where young people from different backgrounds and identities feel respected, included and able to participate.

The session will provide an opportunity to share experiences with other practitioners, challenge assumptions and consider how inclusive youth work can continue to develop in response to the young people and communities we work alongside.

This workshop is suitable for youth workers, volunteers and others working directly with young people.
